The President of the Pan-African Parliament, Dr Fateh Boutbig, is to undertake a bilateral visit to Azerbaijan, leading a high-level delegation from 16 to 18 September 2026.
The visit is being carried out at the invitation of Ms Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis, Azerbaijan’s parliament. It follows Speaker Gafarova’s participation in the First Ordinary Session of the Seventh Legislature of the Pan-African Parliament.
Dr Boutbig will be accompanied on the visit by members of the Bureau of the Pan-African Parliament and by the Chairperson of the Northern Caucus.
The discussions between the two sides are expected to cover areas of shared interest, parliamentary diplomacy and South-South cooperation. They will also explore practical ways to strengthen institutional ties between the Pan-African Parliament and the Milli Majlis.
